Peter Jennings Production Team Requests Assistance Relating to St. Clair County, 1/5/2000, Illinois UFO Case
Independent producer Darryl Barker cooperated with Peter Jennings' production team, Springs Media, New York City, by providing audio elements of the police radio transmissions recorded by the St. Clair County, Illinois 911 unit, Cencom, for the morning of January 5, 2000.
Barker provided tapes of police radio chatter which took place during the January 5, 2000, Illinois flying triangle UFO sightings, a case which has become known around the globe. The tapes include overlapping as well as slightly different recorded material, as originally compiled by the St. Clair County, Cencom communications officer.
After submitting a Freedom of Information Act request to the Illinois State Attorney's office in February, 2000, Barker obtained two versions of the original radio transmissions, which capture the conversations of on-duty police officers from four Illinois towns and villages, including Lebanon, Shiloh, Millstadt and Dupo, Illinois, as they made visual contact with the UFO.
Also, Barker provided to Springs Media original drawings of witness sketches, including that of Melvern Noll, the Illinois businessman who first reported the UFO to the local police department as well as O'Fallon, Illinois police department Detective Mark Lopinot, whom Barker interviewed in 2002 during a follow-up investigation into the case, resulting in the first public disclosure of a fifth police officer who observed a UFO on the morning of January 5, 2000.
Darryl Barker Productions produced the premiere television documentary investigating the January 5, 2000 UFO case, and will be credited in the ABC program.
